In celebration of its 100-year milestone, Ligue 1 side AS Monaco have once again collaborated with Italian sportswear giants Kappa to create a special edition kit marking the occasion. This kit, a sleek blend of modern design and timeless tradition, harkens back to Le Rocher’s very first uniform worn in 1924.

A Design Rooted in Tradition

The centenary kit is of course inspired by the past, capturing key elements of the club’s original strip. The base of the shirt is a deep, elegant black, symbolising the prestige of the club as it stands today. But the most notable feature of the kit is the white buttoned polo collar. This design element mirrors Monaco’s debut kit from a century ago, a subtle yet poignant reminder of where the club began. A retro badge of the club with the initials ASM is also placed onto the shirt featuring the diamonds of the House of Grimaldi, the ruling house of Monaco since 1160. Using a now outdated practice the years 1924 - 2024 are also embroidered underneath the badge underlying the significance of the occasion. The Kappa badge takes a sidestep with just a subtle greyed out colourway visible to avoid taking the attention from the club’s moment. On the reverse of the shirt just below the white collar serves another reminder of the milestone with the words reading ‘100 Years’.

Monaco's journey from its humble beginnings in 1924 in the amateur regional divisions to becoming one of France’s top clubs has been remarkable.
