Umbro Unveils Centenary Third Kits for Iconic Brazilian Clubs

Umbro's Centenary celebration brings a stylish nod to history with the launch of a special third kit collection for some of Brazil's most iconic football clubs: Santos, Chapecoense, Fluminense, Atlético Paranaense, Sport Recife, and Grêmio. This limited edition line combines classic elements with modern designs, paying tribute to each club's unique heritage. Each with bold, retro inspired V shape design but using Umbro’s innovative fabric technology, Umbro has crafted kits that honour both the past and future of Brazilian football, creating must have kits for fans and collectors alike.

Club Athletico Paranaense Third Kit

Athletico Paranaense, the Brazilian football club based in Curitiba and founded in 1924 the same year as manufacturers Umbro makes this partnership a fitting starting point for our breakdown of Umbro’s Centenary collection of Brazilian club third kits. The kit consists of a dark navy base and a rich gold V shape running down from each shoulder as well as gold accents. For it's anniversary, Umbro has introduced a new logo which is also seen on the kit featuring the iconic diamond but with the central diamond filled in. In a nice touch a ‘100’ emblem also appears in the centre of the shirt celebrating the club’s 100 year history.

Fluminense Third Kit

Brasileiro Série A side Fluminense Football Club is one of Brazil's oldest and most prestigious football clubs. Based in Rio de Janeiro, the club is now in it’s fifth year with Umbro and this is possibly the best one of the partnership so far. The kit is a mainly white base however there comes a splash of colour drawing down from the shoulders. The V shape design that features on each shirt of this Centenary collection is two tonal with burgundy at the top and dark green underneath, matching the club’s home colours. The sponsor logo and Umbro badge follow the same rule with a burgundy outer diamond and green central diamond.

Santos Third Kit

Possibly the most famous football club in Brazil but currently residing in the country’s second division. Santos based in Sao Paulo, have been in partnership with Umbro since 2018. Their shirt as part of this collection is a yellow almost gold base featuring an abstract pattern that pays tribute to the Vila Belmiro Stadium in which the club have played their home games since 1916. The black V shape from the shoulders breaks the yellow colour nicely. The Umbro badge is also monochrome black. A subtle detail at the bottom hem of the shirt is a label reading ‘UMBRO 1924’.

Chapecoense Third Kit

Chapecoense based in the city of Chapecó, Santa Catarina have had a turbulent time in the last decade or so. Most notably the air disaster of 2016 and subsequent relegations and promotions. The club is currently residing in Brazil’s Serie B division and will be hoping for promotion back to the top table. Their third kit by Umbro features a dark green base synonymous with the club, the V comes in a minty green as does the Umbro badge. The embossed pattern over the shirt includes various shields, flags, acronyms and the year the club was founded.

Sport Recife Third Kit

Sport Recife, otherwise known as the ‘Lions of the North’. Their third kit by Umbro features the red and black colours most associated with the club. Gone however are the black horizontal stripes which make way for Umbro’s black V shape design from the shoulders to the middle of the chest. The main shirt is a deep red however unlike most of the other club’s listed here their shirt doesn’t feature a graphic over the kit. The Umbro badge contains a grey central diamond and black outer diamond and the club badge is monochrome.

Gremio Third Kit

Three times Copa Libertadores champions Gremio are a club steeped in tradition and success. Their third kit graphic pays tribute to one of their most revered players of the past, 1970 World Cup Winner Everaldo. A player who played for the club for his whole career except for a brief spell at Juventude and won numerous titles but was tragically killed in a car accident in 1974 aged just 30. The base of the kit comes in black with the V in white. The top segment up to the collar is a light blue as are the Gremio badge, Umbro logo and sponsor.
